This project was notable for a record-breaking number of recordings during one installation of Certification system — over 2.7 million workstations and 2.4 million equipment items featuring 90 attributes
The largest power engineering company
Deadlines
28 May 2020 – 27 December 2021
Team
70 persons
Technologies
- IBM Maximo
- Certification system
Background
- Lack of a unified plant Equipment Database at some NPPs, due to which production shops maintained equipment lists in a non-normalized manner
- There is a need to create a unified NPP operation support system for 10 plants due to the lack of a methodology and rules for maintaining Equipment Databases that would be shared by all NPPs
Project goals
- Formation of an Equipment Database for NPP operation support Information System, including plant management system
- Formation of an up-to-date electronic Equipment Database
- Formation of an Equipment Database in a data format suitable for data import into IBM Maximo for Nuclear ver. 7.6 using MxLoader utility without additional processing
Objectives
- Expand methodological documents with a detailed description of approaches to filling directories with business data
- Develop a methodology for verification of data by the Customer
- Create hardware for data acquisition, enrichment, preparation, and standardizing
- Collect data from Equipment Database directories and create an WS** and EI* structure on the basis of existing electronic structured sources and paper scan copies
- Carry out initial formation of WS and EI structure from paper process/functional diagrams if electronic sources are unavailable
- Perform operations to update, enrich, standardize and cleanse data acquired from a variety of structured and unstructured sources
Results
- Methodological documents defining the structure, composition and rules for Equipment Database have been developed
- Data was acquired for Equipment Databases of all NPPs
- The following methodological documents were updated:
- Methodology for populating/updating an Equipment Database, including formation of design types and a classifier of items subject to repair and operation
- Regulations on maintaining an Equipment Database, a local and a centralized MDM
- An engineering solution for the implementation of a unified information space for automation of plant management and for daily operation
- Equipment Database was processed, standardized and enriched.
- Templates for importing Equipment Database into the target system were developed
- The database was imported into IBM Maximo
- Training provided to users on data enrichment and data validation topics
* Equipment Item — a separate technical item, the maintenance and repair of which is performed autonomously
** Workstation — a place at the plant where maintenance activities are carried out
